EPA FIFRA REGISTRATION
The
USEPA has accepted Modec's Label for its Modec Decon Formulation. Approved
for antimicrobial disinfectant and fungicidal uses, Modec's Decon Formulation
has been assigned EPA Registration No.'s 80364-1 and 80364-2 witn California Department of Pesticide Registration 218536, 218548. When used
as directed, MDF-500 exhibits effective disinfectant activity against
the organisms: Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis, Pseudomonas
aeruginosa, and meets the requirements for hospital use.
FUNGICIDAL ACTIVITY - MDF-500
has demonstrated to be fungicidal against pathogenic fungi (Trichophyton
mentagrophytes). Our testing pursuant to EPA DIS/TSS-6 established the
formulation as effective in direct test against fungal spores. Thus, MDF-500
is an effective mildewstat and fungicidal against mold and mold spores.

Modec completed and submitted the required toxicology, chemical analysis
and efficacy test reports required by law and submitted its formulation
to the EPA review under Section 3 Registration requirements prescribed
by FIFRA. Many of the laws, guidance, and policies that govern the Office
of Pesticide Programs (OPP) are contained in the Federal Insecticide,
Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. Modec's Decon Formulation can be used
in commercial and residential applications. Modec's Decon Formulation
is produced in EPA Reg. Est. CO-65001-01.
MODEC DECON FORMULA – “MDF”
is a binary (two part) system. Before use, mix equal parts of MDF PART
A and MDF PART B. Apply the newly mixed solution as a spray onto hard
nonporous surfaces as directed below.
DISINFECTION, DEODORIZING AND CLEANING
- Remove gross filth or heavy soil prior to application of the product.
Spray area until it is covered with solution. Allow product to penetrate
and remain wet for ten minutes. No scrubbing is necessary. The product
will not leave grit.
BACTERICIDAL ACTIVITY - When used
as directed, this product exhibits effective disinfectant activity against
the organisms: Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis, Pseudomonas
aeruginosa, and meets the requirements for hospital use.
MILDEWSTAT - To control mold and mildew
on hard, non-porous surfaces, spray surface to be treated by making sure
to wet completely. Let air dry.
FUNGICIDAL ACTIVITY - This product
has been demonstrated to be fungicidal against Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
Use as directed on hard, non-porous surfaces.
Manufacturer has completed its FDA
Pre-market Notification for use of the product as a skin decontaminant
pursuant to Section 510(k) of the Food and Drug Act. Clinical trials have
been completed and provided to the FDA.
MDF-120 - Antiseptic Skin
Decon Kit
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: MDF-120 is the first safe,
non-toxic first-aid antiseptic specifically designed as a topical decontaminant
for the skin. It is non-flammable, biodegradable and does not contain
alcohol-based sanitizers. This proprietary patented aqueous-based media
contains emollients and moisturizers to protect the skin as well as a
unique species of oxidants that enhances the physical action of hydrophilic
solubilization of materials that are sparingly soluble.
USE: For topical application to the skin to
prevent infection and to help prevent cross contamination. Established
as safe and effective with germicidal effect during short-term use. Reduces
the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms to patients and personnel.
COMPLIANCE
WITH FEDERAL REGULATIONS
IAQM's Formulation is produced in EPA registered facilities to ensure
compliance with 40 CFR Part 712 and all pertinent EPA and Toxic Substances
Control Act ("TSCA") regulations. Contents Decon and Structural
Decon is labeled in accordance with EPA requirements for use on Weapons
of Mass Destruction consisting of chemical agents. Pursuant to Section
8(a) of the Toxic Substances Control Act (15 U.S.C. 2607), the EPA has
been given the broad authority to require manufacturers and producers
of chemical substances to maintain and report information regarding regulated
chemicals.
The IAQM Decontamination process offers
the unique advantage deriving from the careful crafting and melding of
capabilities of resources. The result is a strong capability which offers
our clients four distinct advantages:
- an overwhelming technical capability
to address performance requirements;
- an established and successful record
of managing and fielding complex systems for decon programs;
- a partner prepared to provide the
resources and capabilities to succeed in all contract phases;
- a low risk program for the client
with proven decontaminant products.
These advantages are manifested
in the following ways:
- ISO 9001 certified quality control
program
- Extensive Program Management including
Life Cycle Maintenance
- Successful record of management
of complex defense programs
- ILS Supportability
- Extensive Defense and Commercial
Industry Expertise
- High Volume Production Capability
to 40,000 gallons daily
- Best economic value
- Web-based product support system
- Completed or in-progress regulatory
filings with the FDA and EPA
- Experienced Key Personnel with
proven expertise in Program Management, Testing, Acquisition Logistics,
System Engineering, Chemistry, Cost Accounting, Risk Analysis, Contracts
and Quality Assurance.
Regulatory Matters
The elements used in the production of IAQM's Decon Formulation are listed
on the Toxic Substances Control Act Inventory List and are biodegradable.
The IAQM Decon Team intends to implement a System Safety Program (SSP)
utilizing MIL-STD-882C as a guide. Material Safety Data sheets required
by 29 CFR 1910.1200 are supplied with all products. IAQM conducts ongoing
stability and sampling plan in accordance with Quality System Regulation
21 CFR Part 820.
Disaster Facts
It is important to have all the information possible about domestic preparedness,
first response and chemical and biological agents. The more you know,
the easier it is to be ready.
Fast Fact 1:
Chemical agents come in all states (liquid, gas, solid) - however, most
are liquids. Some of the original compounds used in war were gases - simply
because they were readily and commercially available.
Fast Fact 2:
Some Chemical agents have odors, others do not. For example, distilled
sulfur mustard in odorless, while a less-pure sample would have a faint
garlic smell. The nerve agents sarin and VX are odorless; the choking
agent phosgene smells like freshly mowed hay, while hydrogen cyanide has
an odor of bitter almonds.
Fast Fact 3:
Microorganisms are specifically identified by their genus and species.
Many people refer to biological agents simply as Tularemia, Anthrax and
the Plague. In fact, these terms diseases that the microorganisms cause.
Fast Fact 4:
The terms vesicant and blister can be used interchangeably to categorize
agents such as mustard and lewisite. A vesicant is a blister-producing
agent.
Fast Fact 5:
Terrorists don't need advanced chemical and biological agents to achieve
their goals. As an example, several of the chemical agents originally
used in World War I were widely available in general industry; examples
include chlorine and phosgene. Today, these chemicals are still important
industrial compounds used in the preparation of numerous products.
