Revolutionary Decontamination Technology Mycotoxins are the toxic chemicals produced by fungi for a variety of reasons. These include to attack or gain access to hosts by helping to dissolve cell membranes, or as protective measures against encroaching organisms. The production of mycotoxins within the fungus depends on food sources and the particular enzymes of the fungus and other environmental factors. Mycotoxins are usually not found in spores, but are generally produced in the next stage, that of mycelium. Many mycotoxins are known cancer causing agents.
About IAQM Orange Coast IAQM Orange Coast is the commercialization partner for Modec, licensee of Sandia National Lab revolutionary decon formula. The research project that developed the original base formulation for IAQMs' MDF-500 was sponsored under federally funded DOE Counterproliferation Programs. Modec, Trilogy Analytical, Five Star and IAQM have worked tirelessly to develop multiple formulations from Sandia's original invention that are the only SAFE virucide, fungicide, bactericide, and antibacterial Disinfectant/Decontaminant and mycotoxins neutralizer in the world. Our team has created a unique formula compounding and packaging for rapid deployment as spray and fog using specially designed delivery devices. In May of 2001 the Environmental Health Services at Colorado State University conducted a study on the effectiveness of Modec's formulation in killing Stachybotrys chartarum spores under laboratory conditions. The formula was also found to neutralize Stachybotrys toxins when the organism was grown on rice and wet drywall. MDF-500 Fogging System MDF-500 is registered with the USEPA under FIFRA. The Modec Decon Formulation efficacy has been proven under independent AOAC test methodologies. MDF-500 is a proven two-part virucide, fungicide, bactericide, and antibacterial Disinfectant/Decontaminant. Modec continously runs independent AOAC tests of the Formulation against a variety of pathogenic organisms and viruses. These test results are then submitted to the US EPA for inclusion on our authorized label. MDF-500 has recently passed AOAC testing against the following organisms that has been submitted to the USEPA for review:
Safe: Despite its power, the primary oxidizers within the decon formulation will decompose into oxygen and water. Consequently, it has none of the problems of gaseous release of using chlorine (chlorinated organics) or chemical residues that are associated with other chemical oxidants. And since it is totally miscible with water, is perfectly safe to handle and contains corrosion inhibitors for safe application to many materials. Versatile: MDF-500 is very versatile for decontamination applications - it can treat both easy-to-oxidize pollutants (iron and sulfides) and difficult to oxidize pollutants (solvents, gasolines and pesticides) as well as immediately reducing the flammability. And there is no residual effect on the environment, it can be deployed in a variety of formats (liquid and vapor) which optimizes contact time and emulsification of target contaminants. Safer Than Bleach: MDF-500 can be used on fabrics, clothing, carpet, walls, furniture, computers, and a variety of soft goods that would be permanently damaged by bleach or chlorine. The Formulation is so benign, it has successfully been used inside computers. Surface Decontaminant/Cleaner: The IAQM formulation can be used to decontaminate and clean surfaces exposed to chemicals utilized as WMD's, weapons of mass destruction.. Sick Building Syndrome: Users can reduce the risk of contamination by effectively decontaminating and cleaning a variety of surfaces. Agricultural Applications: The formula can be used to thoroughly clean areas. Petroleum Product Spills: Solubilizing hydrocarbons is an effective method of cleaning chemical and petroleum spills. A unique solution to spills at gas stations as it breaks down spills to more biodegradable components. Technical Data/Test Results IAQM Decon Formula Performance against Volatile Organic Compounds: Clinical trials of the decontaminant against complex hydrocarbons which represent sparingly soluble agents. These tests demonstrated the formulation's effectiveness in significantly reducing Volatile Organic Compounds ("VOC's) on a real-time basis. MDF-500 rapidly mitigated VOC's to completely negligible levels in minutes.
